On Field
We are beginning to see the benefits of our junior cricket programs. We are recruiting and retaining members because of the friendly social environment and sportsmanship ethos we have cultivated. For the second year in a row, after many years without one, our club has entered a team into the Logan District Winter Under 12’s Competition with great success.
Junior member numbers are expected to grow with the inclusion of our Woolworths Junior Blasters introductory program again this year. Our Junior team players have seen great achievements which include Stage 3A being the pre–Christmas season winners for 2020/21, as they were the last two seasons.
Additionally, many of our junior players are consistently invited into South East Queensland selection teams, school representative teams, and district representative teams such as the Ian Healy Cup.
Jimboomba Bushrangers had three senior teams playing in the Logan District Cricket Association Comp with 41 senior players signed up for the club, one in Division 1 and two in Division 2 with all teams having great success throughout the season. With the new season approaching fast the club looks to nominate two senior teams in the association with one in Division 1 & the other in Division 2.
Off Field
Our current financial situation is sound. We have, however, identified the need to invest a significant portion of the clubs available and future finances into the current and future projects to ensure the successful progression of our club. This season we will be continuing to support “Pink Stumps Day” which for 2020, at the height of a global pandemic, saw us raise over $33,000 for the McGrath Foundation. We held our first Movemeber event, raising money for Men’s Health, and a very successful Trivia evening which was quite enjoyable. We also continue upholding our Level 3 accreditation in the “Good Sports” Program.
