Club

Jimboomba Cricket Association Inc. is a family friendly club committed to delivering benefit and value for our wider community. Our passion for cricket allows us to provide a healthy and safe environment which caters to the sporting and social needs of our community.

Located at Glen Logan Park at the corner of Cusack Lane and Henderson Rd Jimboomba since 2006, our Club continues to grow and respond to the needs of our community. Our Club consists of both Junior and Senior teams, which play in a joint association competition involving clubs from the Beaudesert and Logan Districts. With the average age of our membership being younger than ever before, our club has many returning players, both young and young at heart.

Jimboomba Cricket Association Inc. nurtures its community and promotes a fun, active lifestyle with friendships, teamwork and good sportsmanship skills through development programs and its community relationships. Our Club is also mindful of those in our community who are financially or otherwise disadvantaged. Run entirely by dedicated volunteers, our Club has an inclusive approach and seeks out alternative funding opportunities for the running its facility and activities, which help to keep membership fees at an affordable level.

Purpose Statement

Our vision and strategy pledges to:

• Improve JCAI’s financial status, including increasing sponsorship
• Forge a greater connection within the local community and past players
• Lift the profile of the club
• Work in consultation with the club’s coaches to develop successful retention and recruitment strategies

With 5 Schools in the area, 2 of which cater for P-Y12 and 1 High School, there is, an expectation that by 2018 there will be over 9,800 children between the ages of 0-15 living in the Jimboomba catchment area. Around 5,000 families call Jimboomba home and it is one of the responsibilities of our club to meet the sporting needs of our growing community.

On Field
We are beginning to see the benefits of our junior cricket programs. We are recruiting and retaining members because of the friendly social environment and sportsmanship ethos we have cultivated. For the second year in a row, after many years without one, our club has entered a team into the Logan District Winter Under 12’s Competition with great success.

Junior member numbers are expected to grow with the inclusion of our Woolworths Junior Blasters introductory program again this year. Our Junior team players have seen great achievements which include Stage 3A being the pre-Christmas season winners for 2020/21, as they were the last two seasons.
Additionally, many of our junior players are consistently invited into South East Queensland selection teams, school representative teams, and district representative teams such as the Ian Healy Cup.

Jimboomba Bushrangers had three senior teams playing in the Logan District Cricket Association Comp with 41 senior players signed up for the club, one in Division 1 and two in Division 2 with all teams having great success throughout the season. With the new season approaching fast the club looks to nominate two senior teams in the association with one in Division 1 & the other in Division 2.

Off Field
Our current financial situation is sound. We have, however, identified the need to invest a significant portion of the clubs available and future finances into the current and future projects to ensure the successful progression of our club. This season we will be continuing to support “Pink Stumps Day” which for 2020, at the height of a global pandemic, saw us raise over $33,000 for the McGrath Foundation. We held our first Movemeber event, raising money for Mens Health, and a very successful Trivia evening which was quite enjoyable. We also continue upholding our Level 3 accreditation in the “Good Sports” Program.

Listed in priority format:

  1. Development and maintenance of a Turf Wicket and superior quality playing surface.
  2. Development and maintenance of an Artificial Grass Wicket and superior quality playing surface.
  3. Upgrade maintenance equipment to more efficient technology.
  4. Upgrade our net training facilities to be safer and more efficient
  5. Establish a “Master Plan” of Glen Logan Park in conjunction with Jimboomba AFL and Logan City Council, to ensure that future Facility upgrades keep pace with the growing needs of all Members and the community.
